The short version. RemodelMatch is a lead-generation and matching service. When you request a quote, we collect the contact and home details you give us and share them with one or more vetted security dealers (and their authorized partners) so they can contact you about your request. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1 Who we are

RemodelMatch is a service operated by Castlewood Media AB ("RemodelMatch", "we", "us", or "our"). We are the controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Our company and contact details are set out in Section 15.

RemodelMatch is an independent matching service. We are not a security provider, alarm company, or installer, and we are not affiliated with SafeStreets, Inc. or any equipment manufacturer.

2 Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal data we collect through our websites, quote-request forms, landing pages, and related online services that link to it (collectively, the "Services"). It does not apply to the privacy practices of the third-party dealers, providers, or advertisers we may share your information with — each operates under its own privacy policy once your information reaches them.

3 Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data, primarily the information you submit through a quote request:

  • Contact details — your name, email address, telephone number, and postal or property address (including ZIP code).
  • Property & request details — information about your home and your inquiry, such as property type, square footage, number of entry points, ownership status, and the products or services you are interested in.
  • Consent & interaction records — records of the consent you provide, the page and form you submitted, timestamps, and the version of the disclosures shown to you (a "TrustedForm" or similar certificate may be created).
  • Technical & usage data — IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and similar information collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications — the content of messages, emails, or call recordings when you contact us or a matched provider.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (such as health, biometric, or financial-account information) through our quote forms. Please do not submit such information to us.

4 How we collect it

  • Directly from you when you complete a form, request a quote, or contact us.
  • Automatically through cookies, pixels, tags, and analytics tools when you use the Services.
  • From partners such as advertising networks, marketing affiliates, and lead-verification providers who may refer you to us or help confirm the accuracy of submitted information.

5 How we use information

We use personal data to:

  • Match you with one or more relevant dealers or providers and facilitate your quote request.
  • Transmit your request to the matched provider(s) so they can contact you.
  • Verify, validate, and improve the quality of submitted leads and prevent fraud.
  • Communicate with you about your request and respond to inquiries.
  • Operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the Services and our marketing.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where we rely on a legal basis under the EU/UK GDPR, our bases are: your consent; performance of a contract or steps taken at your request; our legitimate interests in operating and improving our matching service; and compliance with legal obligations.

6 Consent to be contacted

By submitting a quote request, you authorize RemodelMatch and the dealer(s) or provider(s) we match you with to contact you at the telephone number and email address you provide — including by autodialed and pre-recorded calls and text messages — about your request, even if your number is on a Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply.

You may revoke this consent at any time by following the opt-out instructions in any message, replying STOP to text messages, or contacting us using the details in Section 15. Revoking consent does not affect contact you may have already authorized a matched provider to make under its own terms.

7 How we share information

Because we are a lead-generation service, sharing your request is the core of what we do. We share personal data with:

  • Matched dealers and providers — one or more security dealers, installers, or their authorized partners who fulfil your quote request. Once shared, they act as independent controllers of your information.
  • Service providers — vendors who host our systems, deliver communications, provide analytics, verify leads, and support our operations, acting on our instructions.
  • Advertising & marketing partners — networks and platforms that help us measure and deliver advertising; some of this activity may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under U.S. state laws (see Do Not Sell or Share).
  • Legal & safety recipients — authorities or third parties where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Corporate transactions — a successor or acquirer in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your contact information for monetary consideration outside the matching context described above.

8 Cookies & tracking technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our cookie banner or preference center. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function.

We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.

9 Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Portability — receive certain data in a portable format.
  • Objection & restriction — object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of sale/sharing — U.S. residents may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and targeted advertising via our Do Not Sell or Share page.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise a right, contact us using the details in Section 15. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits. EU/UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority; in Sweden this is the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

10 Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including to facilitate your request, maintain records of consent, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and legal requirement; when data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

11 Data security

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12 International transfers

RemodelMatch is operated from Sweden and serves users primarily in the United States. Your personal data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States and the European Economic Area. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses — for cross-border transfers.

13 Children's privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
